Tall Trees Eco Retreat - Fern Cottage

Nourishing for the soul. Positive: The location is just amazing. The photos simply can't do it justice. You feel completely disconnected from the business of city life and immersed in the beauty of nature. The glow worms were a beautiful treat, and not hard to find. The stars are overwhelmingly beautiful. Even the drive up to the house from Apollo Bay is a wonderful experience. Negative: Our hot water ran out quite frequently. On the first day it ran out while someone was having a shower. My sister sought help and they fixed it very quickly. Unfortunately on the final day too, after simply having run a bath for my son and used hot water for the dishes, the hot water ran out completely. We all had to have cold showers after that as we had about twenty minutes to check out and didn't even have time to go down and seek help. I am sure the owners would have gladly fixed it, but we had to rush off to a wedding and could not wait around.

An awesome stay in the middle of the forest! Positive: An awesome stay in the middle of the forest — the perfect place to relax, clear your mind, and recharge. A peaceful escape surrounded by nature! Negative: One of the cottages does not have an internet connection, while the other cottage does. During our stay, we experienced difficulties communicating with each other because there was no mobile phone reception available in the forest area. Although the concept of the place is to provide an off-grid experience, I believe both cottages should have an internet connection to allow essential communication between guests and improve the overall experience.
