Tall Trees Eco Retreat - Blackwood Cottage

Wow. Amazing place.

Secluded and rejuvenating stay. Loved it ! Positive: What a lovely getaway in the middle of the forest! We absolutely loved every bit of our stay. Being surrounded by nature and away from the usual hustle and bustle gave us the perfect chance to slow down, relax, and enjoy quality time together. It was wonderful to disconnect from everything and reconnect with family, share some laughs, and create some beautiful memories. Definitely a refreshing and memorable stay! Negative: It would have been great to have some internet and phone service available, especially just for emergencies. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi at the entrance, wasn’t working either.

Relaxing cabin surrounded by rainforest and abundance of wildlife! Positive: We had a lovely 5 night stay in the Blackwood Cabin. Cabin had everything we needed, especially to be cosy. All cooking utensils in kitchen. Plenty to cook your own meals. Plenty of blankets for beds and to be cosy on the couches. Loved the abundance of wildlife: Kookaburras, brush tailed possum, King Parrots and Lorikeets. The tub of bird seeds was a good touch. We enjoyed feeding the birds as part of our morning routine. The property is gorgeous with surrounding gum trees and forest which is what the Otways is famous for. A nice trail on the property that takes you to old pine trees and a 500 year old gum tree. Only 20 minute drive from town of Apollo Bay. No phone reception or Wifi but this provided a perfect way to switch off and relax. Vic and Dave are the perfect hosts. No hesitation to drop off extra firewood. Loved the nightly fires and reading a book by the fire. Negative: Nothing - wish we had more time to stay! Hope to return on the future.
